car on the opening side, is the latch held up to the body by 2 bolts.. jacking up the car with the door closed will cause the latch to move and will mess up the door alignment with the body, especially if you are using a jack on one side or the other to do so... How else is the door going to keep the car from flexing ? with the glass pressed against the T-tops !? I don't think so, that's the only other point I can think of where the door is firmly pressed against the car, the rest is lightely seperated with the weaher strip. That's my opinion and experience .. please post yours as well ..
